What is Rybbit?

Rybbit tracks visitors, pages, referrers and events, and adds product analytics such as funnels, user journeys and session replay, without cookies by default. It aims to be intuitive enough to set up in a couple of minutes, with a live demo on a real production site. You can use Rybbit's hosted service or self-host it with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis and a Caddy proxy. 11 translations of the interface are available.

Good fit if

  • You want more than page views, but less complexity than PostHog.
  • You want a modern dashboard on a privacy-friendly basis.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need a lighter install without ClickHouse: Umami or GoatCounter.
  • You need a project with a longer track record: Matomo.

Before you adopt it

Rybbit is AGPL-3.0, and nothing in the repository is paywalled. It started in January 2025, and one developer writes nearly all of the code.
