Privacy
Opensaurus has no accounts, no ads and sells no data. We measure visits with Google Analytics only if you agree to it.
Who runs Opensaurus
The controller responsible for the personal data described here is Opensaurus, Poland. Contact: hello@opensaurus.org.
Server logs
Like any website, our server records each request: the IP address, time, page requested, the page you came from and your browser’s user agent. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure and to count visits. They stay on our server, are not shared, and are deleted after 14 days.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Google Analytics
Only if you click Accept in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and projects people find useful. If you click Reject, or do nothing, Google’s script is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
With your consent, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_Y93D7770QN, which last up to 13 months, and records the pages you view, how you arrived, your device, browser and approximate location, and actions on the site: searches, clicks to a project’s GitHub page or website, and copying a README badge. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We keep the data for 14 months. Google signals and ad personalization are off, and we do not use the data for advertising.
Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC process the data on our behalf. It may be transferred to the United States, where Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; withdrawing consent deletes the Google Analytics cookies on this site.
What is stored in your browser
Your cookie choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (opensaurus-consent), so the banner does not come back on every page. Apart from that and the analytics cookies you agree to, Opensaurus stores nothing in your browser. Fonts, scripts and images come from our own server.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@opensaurus.org. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, in your country or in Poland.
