What is Page Assist?

Page Assist adds a sidebar to any web page, where you can ask your local model about the page you are reading, and a full-page chat interface that works like ChatGPT. It supports Chrome, Brave, Edge and other Chromium browsers as well as Firefox, connects to Ollama and other local servers, and can switch to hosted models when needed. 16 translations of the interface are available.

Good fit if

  • You run Ollama and want to use it while browsing, without a separate app.
  • You want to summarize or question web pages with a private model.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want an AI agent that operates the browser for you: Browser Use.
  • You want a standalone desktop chat app: Jan.
