What is Browser Use?

Browser Use lets a language model operate a real browser: it reads the page, clicks, types, fills forms and moves between tabs to complete a task such as finding a free slot and booking an appointment. You run it locally with any model and write the task in plain language from Python or TypeScript code. The same company offers Browser Use Cloud with stealth browsers, CAPTCHA solving, residential proxies and a hosted agent API, priced per browser hour.

Good fit if

  • You are building an agent that has to work on websites without an API.
  • You want to automate web tasks with natural-language instructions in your own code.

Look elsewhere if

  • You automate business apps through their APIs rather than websites: n8n.
  • You want a coding agent for your repository: OpenHands or OpenCode.

Before you adopt it

The library is MIT-licensed, and running it on your own machine costs only the model calls. Stealth browsers, CAPTCHA handling and proxies belong to the paid cloud, not to the open code.
