What is Offen?

Offen takes a different approach to privacy: visitors must actively consent before any data is collected, and they can open their own view of the data the site holds about them, then delete it. Operators still get the essential metrics, such as visitors, page views, referrers, bounce rate and returning visitors, with data encrypted end to end. It is lightweight, self-hosted and available in 5 interface languages.

Good fit if

  • You want analytics that give visitors full transparency and control.
  • You run a site where trust is part of the brand.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want an active project: Offen had no commits in the last 90 days. Umami is busy.
  • You want stats without asking for consent: cookie-free tools like Plausible count everyone.

Before you adopt it

Offen is Apache-2.0 and free. Because collection is opt-in, you will see only the share of visitors who agree, so numbers will be lower than with other tools.
