Liwan

Self-hosted, privacy-first web analytics in Rust that runs as a single binary, with a real-time dashboard and bot filtering on by default.

What is Liwan?

Liwan shows your most visited pages, where visitors come from and how traffic changes over time, on a dashboard that updates in real time. Bots are filtered out by default, and no cookies or personal data are needed. It is written in Rust and ships as one executable for Linux or macOS, or in a container, which makes it light enough for the smallest servers.

Good fit if

  • You want a tiny, fast analytics server with nothing else to install.
  • You run a personal site or a few small projects.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need goals, events and team features: Plausible or Umami.
  • You want an established project with many contributors: Matomo.

Before you adopt it

Liwan is Apache-2.0 and free. It started in June 2024 and is the work of a single developer, so its future depends on one person.
