PR-Agent

An open-source AI reviewer for pull requests that describes changes, reviews code and suggests improvements on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure DevOps.

13.9k stars, 2k forks Python On GitHub since July 2023

What is PR-Agent?

PR-Agent runs on pull requests and answers commands such as describe, review and improve: it writes a summary of the change, points out issues, and proposes code suggestions. It can run as a GitHub Action, a webhook service or from the command line, with the model provider of your choice. It began at Qodo and is now a community-maintained project, separate from Qodo's commercial review product and its free tier.

Good fit if

  • You want automated first-pass reviews on every pull request with your own model keys.
  • You use GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps, not only GitHub.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want an agent that writes the code, not one that reviews it: OpenHands or OpenCode.

Before you adopt it

PR-Agent moved from Apache-2.0 to MIT in July 2026, both permissive licenses. It is community-maintained with sponsor support, so check recent releases if you depend on a specific git platform.

Drafted with AI from the project's README and repository data, then checked against that data on 30 October 2026. Report a correction
