What is InvoiceShelf?

InvoiceShelf creates invoices and estimates and exports them as PDFs, records payments and shows what each customer still owes. It also tracks expenses and taxes, produces business reports, schedules recurring invoices, and gives customers a portal for their documents and payment history. You can manage several companies and invite team members with scoped roles. The upcoming 3.x line adds EN 16931 e-invoices in ZUGFeRD and Factur-X format through an official module. The interface covers 42 languages.

Good fit if

  • You bill clients regularly and want a focused invoicing tool on your own server.
  • You run more than one small company and want them in one installation.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need full double-entry bookkeeping: Bigcapital.
  • You want a simpler, long-established invoicing app: InvoicePlane.

Before you adopt it

InvoiceShelf is AGPL-3.0, has no paid parts in the repository, and requires a CLA from contributors. Nearly every recent commit comes from a single developer. Use the 2.x release for real data, since the default 3.x branch is an alpha preview. Docker Compose runs it with MySQL.
