What is ezbookkeeping?

ezBookkeeping records daily income and spending in two levels of accounts and categories, with image attachments, map locations and scheduled transactions. You can import data from other sources, filter and search bills, and analyze history with built-in charts or your own chart dimensions. Separate layouts serve phones and desktops, and as a progressive web app it can sit on a home screen like a native app. AI features read text and receipt photos, generate charts and expose an MCP server. The app is localized into 22 languages.

Good fit if

  • You want a personal expense tracker that runs on a Raspberry Pi or NAS with little memory.
  • You log spending mainly from your phone.

Look elsewhere if

  • You budget with envelopes or zero-based planning: Actual Budget.
  • You need business accounting and invoices: Bigcapital.

Before you adopt it

ezBookkeeping is MIT-licensed with no paid parts. One developer writes nearly all of it. It starts with a single Docker command and works with SQLite, MySQL or PostgreSQL; builds also exist for Windows, Linux and macOS.
